I have told you how confusing I find modern art. I tend to gravitate towards artists that manipulate objects to make them more interesting, engaging, and exciting – I am repelled by artists that seem to be staring down their nose at me because I just don’t get it.
Earlier this year, I stumbled across the paper sculptures of Jen Stark. While Jen’s work utilizes various mediums, I am drawn to her work with paper on wood backing and how she creates depth using colored paper and foam core.
She has held several solo exhibitions – including one in OKC in 2011. She has been also featured in several publications, including Harvard Business Review. She is showing now through November at the Martha Otero Gallery in LA.
I have spent the morning procrastinating by looking at her wonderful portfolio on her website. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
